#doitwithalocal is more than just our twitter "hashtag". Its a belief that Small Business are a major contributing factor to a healthy and diverse community and economy. To that end, we decided to include this small section on our website in order to help promote "the little guy". By all means this is not meant to be an exhaustive list of all locally owned and operated businesses in the greater Hot Springs/Garland County area, we will probably missed a few, if we have and you would like your favorite small business listed, just drop us an email. Remember to Shop Small and #doitwithalocal!
This competition is a relay format for 3 person, co-ed teams and solo racers. The first team member will begin with a 5K trail run followed by completing a climbing route, belayed by a the next member of the team before he/she begins the 10 mile mountain bike ride. The ride is again followed by a climb before the final team member can begin his/her 5K trail run. After the final team member completes the trail run and the final climb, the entire team will sprint to the finish line. All of this will be completed in the dark, by headlamp (just to make things interesting).
In December of 1997, Don Jackson, after seeing a need for a true outdoor specialty shop in Hot Springs, opened Ouachita Outdoor Outfitters. His original vision was a store that offered quality service, quality products, and had a knowledgeable staff to back it all up. Today that vision still stands true. Ouachita Outdoor Outfitters, or "Triple-O", is known for its wide selection of products to take the outdoor enthusiast anywhere and on any adventure they choose. While the staff at Ouachita are small in numbers, they are committed to outstanding customer service before, during, and after the sale. "We are constantly learning in this business," said Sales Manager Jeremy Mackey. "We learn from our experiences in the outdoors, our dealer representatives, but most importantly we learn from our customers, through their experiences." From hiking, backpacking, and climbing, to fly fishing and kayaking, Ouachita Outdoor Outfitters is equipped to help both the beginner and seasoned enthusiast get outside and pursue their passion for the outdoors.
